Middle School Film Festival
Each year, North Country Education Services offers the North Country Middle School Film Festival for grades 5-8. The theme of the festival is “Celebrate What’s Right in the North Country.” Two teams from Woodland chose to enter films in the festival:
-Faustine and Zoe created a film about Woodland
-Faustine and Cole created a film about Meadowstone Farm
All films that were entered in the Festival will be shown at The Rialto Theatre in Lancaster on Saturday, March 19, at 10:00am. Awards will be given to those films that best represent the theme, as well as for technical merit and overall picture. Plan on going to The Rialto and supporting the WCS film making teams!
Arts Journey Continues!
The Arts Journey continued with a field trip to The Hood Museum in Hanover, snap circuit spin art, “bleeding tissue” art, beading, painting rocks, and a student led offering melting crayons. Interwoven among all these activities were writing and research, movie making, mask making and domino structures.
Beginning immediately after February vacation week, the students will be taking four weeks of pottery classes at the Littleton Studio School. Half of the WCS students will be hand building with clay (Monday’s), the other half will be learning to use the pottery wheel (Tuesday’s).
The students are working on performing in and producing a Talent Show, stay tuned for more details!
