Science, anyone?

Scientist Victor DeNoble paid a visit to Woodland this week and shared his research about nicotine and its addictive effect on the brain. Victor's engaging and humorous presentation included the story of how he "blew the whistle" on one of the big tobacco companies, how he used science to prove the addictive qualities of nicotine, and even how he received a phone call from then President Bill Clinton. And yes, that is a human brain hemisphere that Victor is holding in his hand! Woodland students were a rapt audience as Victor showed them the brain of a rat, a monkey, and a human.
